One of our Gracie Barra Parents discusses the changes he has seen in his child's rugby skills since starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
RUGBY cross BJJ - How can training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu help you perform on the footy field?
Read this testimonial from one our Gracie Barra Parents to find out!
“In 2018, Zander started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of four. Like anything new he was very nervous but with the help of some of the other students he was made to feel comfortable and give Jiu-Jitsu a go!
Zander throughly enjoyed all of his sessions with Gracie Barra Caringbah, and we didn’t notice major improvements until he began his second season of Rugby League. Zander plays for the Kurnell Stingrays, a great club that really puts their players first.
We noticed a big improvement in his confidence which was shown in how he tackled opposition players and how he was able to fall correctly when being tackled. We love to know that our son knows how to stay safe on the footy field!
Considering that he had no prior football training, we can only attribute his advanced tackling to the attributes of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
More recently, Zander has moved into a different age group where trains with older and much bigger students at Gracie Barra Caringbah. This has given Zander the confidence in being able to tackle much bigger players.
The benefits of BJJ have not only improved Zander’s other sports, but it has taught him how to stand up to bullies, how to respect people, and that working hard and having fun is very important also!”
Thank you to Jared Ngaika for taking the time to explain the benefits of BJJ for kids. Zander is a very special member of our team, and we look forward to seeing him succeed on and off our mats!
